i reached my goal of riding 1000 miles this summer

the end of september and 1000 miles successfully reached: the bike experiment is officially over.

stats:

week 9: 18.5 mi, 4 subway rides
week 10: ~93.9 mi, 0 subway rides (did not remember to total one day, so used daily average for the week instead)
week 11: 23.5 mi, 7 subway rides
week 12: 35 mi, 0 subway rides
week 13: 64.5 mi, 5 subway rides
week 14: 44.8 mi, 0 subway rides

14 week, 98 day total*: ~1014.9 mi on bike, ~40 subway rides
total $ saved from not purchasing monthly subway passes: ~$228.10
total spills: 2
total near-spills: a couple
new or used equipment bought during the 15 weeks, due to added riding concerns or wear: bike helmet ($42), new bike lights ($35), donations for using tools at bike workshop ($10), set of wrenches ($15), shifter repair ($10), wheel ($40 -- which also came with an old road bike, which will, possibly, be fixed and sold)

*week 15: 10.8 mi, ~10 subway rides (sprained knee and mother in town for the week. not included in stats)
